Let’s Get Students Involved in the Yearbook!

Many advisors look for ways to get more student interaction into their books.  Here is our idea for a unique way to ask students questions.

Sticky note layout design full res

Just give them a sticky note, ask them your specific questions and stick their answers up on your board. Other students will see this and want to contribute their thoughts as well.  Possible questions are shown below:

  • Who has had the largest impact on your life so far? Why?
  • What is your favorite quote? Why?
  • What is your favorite school memory? Why?
  • Who would you pick for our classroom clown?
  • Who is your favorite teacher and why?
  • What do you want to do when you grow up?

You can use this idea for lots of different places in your book.  For example, the one above is for Senior thoughts, which would be helpful when you create your Senior page. Thoughts like these could also go on portrait pages, club pages, or event pages, and can be related to your theme, related to a specific class, etc. As you can see from the flexibility of the questions, you can use this for almost any section.

This is such a fun idea!  Before you know it, you’ll have lots of ideas and comments for your yearbook.

Have fun creating!
